Boy do I want to live there!!!!

On Monday I had a friend over and we made gingerbread houses, then went out and played in the snow. We had a lot of fun!
I made this Christmas tree out of an ice cream cone, green frosting, Skittles, and chocolate discs.

And the grand total is........

Last night before I came in from playing in the snow, I took a ruler out to measure exactly how much snow we have.

The least snow we have is: 4.5 inches under a tree.

The most snow we have is: 9.5 inches out in the open.

Wow! That's a lot of snow! Yipee! It won't be melting any time soon, and it will be here at least til Christmas!! YAY!

Here I go!

4 Days Left!!!

*Splash!*

Two nights ago, I had a sleepover with some friends. Hannah from http://www.12chickentracks.blogspot.com/, Agent Pizza from http://www.blogofthepizzas.blogspot.com/, Nadine from http://www.candycane-llama.blogspot.com/, and Emma from http://www.emmasdilemmas123.blogspot.com/. We discussed blogging, sledded, drank hot cocoa, and played many games of charades. We had an amazing dinner, and solved many riddles. It was very fun. We sledded down the big hill to a neighbor's house and I mastered the U-Turn!!!!!! I smashed a snowball in Agent Pizza's face (again, very sorry), and aimed and missed many snowballs at Hannah and Emma. Nadine just stood saying wow at the box of powdered sugar doughnut holes at Agent Pizza's house. She also tried to ski down the big hill, but it was too icy.

Fun Fun Fun!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful....

Last night there was a big storm with wind, snow, and ice. There is almost zero snow on the trees; it's all on the ground now. I bet we have, maybe 8-9 inches of snow now, with all of it from the trees on the ground. Our newspaper didn't come today, as the roads are so bad. Almost nobody is venturing out today, nobody wants to spin out or anything. Well, Mother Nature will do what Mother Nature has to do.

Can you say SNOWED IN???

While people here may think we have a lot of snow, you should see my cousins! They have 1 1/2 feet of snow! They sent us some pictures where the trash can is so covered with snow it's taller than my uncle!!! That would be cool, but I wonder how much school they have to make up at the end of the year...............

My Favorite Comic Strip: Present

Here's the present-day comic strip:

My Favorite Comic Strip: Past

My favorite comic strip in the whole wide world is Baby Blues by Jerry Scott and Rick Kirkman. I thought that I'd post a comic that was kind of seasonal from the past, and then one from the present. Here's the past.

Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland..........

Thursday, December 18, 2008

Wow! Lotsa Snow!

Wow! We got nearly 7 INCHES of snow today!!! That is the most snow I've seen since I've lived here. You should have seen the mailman, he had like a foot on top of his truck, and we had a good half a foot on top of our trash cans. It started snowing at like 4 this morning, then it didn't stop until like 3 this afternoon!! School's already cancelled tomorrow. Winter Break has officially started!!! Yipee!!

Yay! A REAL Snow Day!!!

Today we actually have a REAL snow day, with snow!!!! My friend is coming over and we're going to play in it!! YAY!! NO MATH TEST AND NO WASHINGTON STATE HISTORY TEST AND NO FRENCH TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!

The Bandgies: Holiday Edition

Last night my friend Hannah and I went to the Winter Band Concert. Like 6 of my friends are in the band and the orchestra played too. The orchestra played a really long song and then Trepak from the Nutcracker. The younger band played Frosty the Snowman and Sea Song Trilogy. Then the Symphonic Band played Bleak Midwinter and The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. My friend had a solo and she squeaked on ONE note, and thought it was "eh, adequate." But she did amazing. When we were bringing the instruments back to the band room, one of my friends dropped the cymbals like 3 times. Fun fun fun.........................

Wow, this is the dumbest snow day ever...

This is the dumbest snow day in the history of dumb snow days. I could have been to school and back by now and not a single flake. All the snow has melted off the roofs almost, and I CAN SEE BLUE SKY RIGHT NOW and this is so lame!!!!!!! And then watch it dump at like 5:00 and then there be no school tomorrow but it actually be fun!! Hopefully................

Snow Day!!!!

Yay! The first snow day of the year!!! It's kind of lame, though, because there actually isn't very much snow, but they're predicting this huge storm in the late morning, and they didn't want anyone stuck at school. The snow isn't even good snowman snow! It's all powdery and won't form into snowballs no matter how hard you try. With that note, I leave you with this picture of what I wish I could make out of this snow.

Extreme Makeover: Blog Edition

In case you are blind enough to notice, I have made some extreme changes to the layout and background. The background will change according to the seasons and holidays. If you look down at the bottom of each post, where you see the comments and stuff, you will see some changes too. I think it makes the blog more interesting.

Oh, Well

Well, another dance has gone by and not a single guy asked me to slow dance *sigh.* Well, what can you do. The guy I like wasn't even there anyway. I think I liked the DJ at the front of the gym instead of at an angle in the corner. I think that made it a lot more crowded. Well, looks like I'll have to complain to Leadership.

Dance! Dance! Dance!

Our second school dance is tomorrow!!!!! I'm very excited. The theme is "A White Knight." We're supposed to wear white, but I'm not going to. I don't have anything!! Oh well. I've never had a guy ask me to dance before, but I was close one time!! I am SOOOOOOO excited!!!

Recipe Time: The Thanksgiving Leftover Sandwich

As I mentioned in Thanksgiving Countdown: 5 Days, I enjoy making Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches after Thanksgiving. I thought I would include the recipe.

Ingredients:

Bread
Thanksgiving Leftovers (mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, and gravy are musts)

Instructions:

  • Slice the bread
  • Use a knife to spread gravy on the bread like mayo
  • Spread mashed potatoes on top of that
  • Take 2 thin pieces of turkey and lay them on top of the potatoes
  • Sprinkle stuffing on top of that
  • Enjoy!

OR

Just skip the bread altogether and just pile everything on a plate, and then you can have a Thanksgiving II! Or, what I do, is I sometimes mix everything up so that you get everything in every bite!!! End your amazing breakfast/lunch/dinner (circle one) with a wedge of strawberry-pretzel salad, or a big slice of pumpkin/pecan/apple (circle one) pie!!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................Thanksgiving. Gotta love it!

One Bad Apple Cup Spoils the Bunch

It was a very hard Apple Cup for Husky fans yesterday. They were up 10-0 at the half. Then the Cougs scored a 57-yd TD, then they scored a field goal to tie it at 10-10. The Huskies had two more chances to win, but missed both FG attempts. It went into overtime, and neither team scored in the first OT. In the second OT, the Huskies missed yet another FG, and then the Cougars completed their Fg attempt to win 16-13. So sad...........................

Thanksgiving Countdown: 5 Days!!!

Only 5 more days until Thanksgiving!!! But only 2 more days until my grandparents come!!!! They're coming for Thanksgiving, but they're also here to look after moi. You see, my parents are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this year the day before Thanksgiving. They're going to California, so my grandparents are coming to stay with me. Here are our Thanksgiving traditions:

Grandma: Get up super early and go shopping the day after Thanksgiving to catch any post-holiday sales (looks like my mom and I will be tagging along this year!)

Grandpa: Stay home

Dad: Stay home and watch college football (a LOT of college football)

Mom: Rearranging the refrigerator to fit all the leftovers

Me: Whatever everyone else is doing, and making lots of "Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches."

We're So Smart!!

Well, just now there was this huge National Honors Society Induction Ceremony today at school. There were probably about 100 kids there who were new to the program. It was kind of boring sitting there until everyone's name was called, but at least there was cake afterwards!!! They had a lot of name mispronounciations. They pronounced Randi's name "Mirahnda", and many other people were mispronounced too. But it was alright, I guess. I was nearly deafend by all the applause!!!

1 down, 2 to go!

Yesterday I tried out for the club volleyball team I was on last year, and I made the younger team. Today I am trying out for the older teams, and I am really nervous!!!!!! One of them is from 10-1 at a different club than last year, and then there's one from 6-9 at the same club as last year. I hope to make it, but there will be a lot of girls trying out, because the club I want to make is pretty well known, and there are some pretty good girls around here.

Only one hour until we leave for the first tryout!!! Eeeeek!!!

Volleyball Tryouts This Weekend!!!!

This weekend I will be trying out for 2 club volleyball teams. And with my knee good as new, I think I will do very well. I am trying out for the team I was on last year, because my birthday is on the cutoff date. Wish me luck this weekend!!!!

They Love My Shirt, They Love My Shirt Not...

Today, in honor of Barack Obama winning the election (WOO HOO!!!!! PARTY! CONFETTI! STREAMERS! YAY!!!!!!) I wore my mom's famous Obama T-Shirt. There a lot of McCain supporters in my classes, so they were avoiding looking at me. The Obama supporters, on the other hand, told me they loved it.

ps: I thought it was so cute when he told his daughters they were getting a puppy right in the middle of his acceptance speech!!!

Fingers Crossed!!!!

OMG!!!!! It's Election Day today, and a bunch of states' polls are already being counted!!!!!! I am really scared!!!!! Today we voted at school and Barack Obama won as president, I won't give the name of the governor (that would disclose the state I live in), and I-985 passed. I went with my mom to vote today, and I got to push the button!!!!!! Yay!! I hope Obama wins. I am crossing my fingers!!!!

Injured: That's a First!

Yesterday at my soccer game I got my first real sports injury. I was at goalie, and I had just saved a ball, and then a girl fell on me and the ball became dislodged. I was on the ground, and then the girl fell on my knee, and another girl shot for a goal. I got up and I couldn't put any weight on my left leg, and I couldn't play the rest of the game! We lost that game 2-0. I put copious amounts of ice on my knee and spent all of last night sitting on the couch watching TV. I have a brace on it now, and it still really hurts. I don't really know what happened to it, but hopefully it will be better by Tuesday so I can start the new P.E unit; Jump Rope and Fitness Testing. I don't want to miss that! I am limping around the house now, and I might have to wear the brace for my presidential speech tomorrow!!!!

Have a Maverick-y Halloween!!!

Yesterday while my friends and I were out trick-or-treating, we came to a house with a "McCain-Palin" sign outside, and when the door opened, the woman inside was wearing several McCain buttons. My friends Hannah decided to counteract that by saying, instead of "Trick or treat" to say "Have a Maverick-y Halloween from a bunch of Obama supporters!" The woman was a little shocked, but then started having a politics discussion with Hannah, mostly about Obama's tax cutting plans. My other friends and I practically had to drag her away from that house!!! Speaking of which, there were several other fun costumes outside, our favorite of which was Joe the Plumber!!!! It was genius!

We got plenty of candy, and the trading afterward was hysterical! AG: "Who wants Laffy Taffy!" Hannah: "ME ME ME!" Hahahaha

Me and My Weird Friends

Today after school there was a softball party! There were root beer floats, but I don't like root beer, so I just had the ice cream. Vanilla.......mmmmmm-yum-yum-yum-yum-yum...... Anyway, afterward we started daring each other to go into the guy's bathroom and we all went in together, and then screamed and ran out. No stalls....EEEWWW!!!! After that Ms. Strong brought in caramel apples and I had 3!! Then we helped Mr. Abero with some boxes of what looked like basketball jerseys. He gave us Jolly Ranchers for that! Then we started to go down to the locker room in a big group, and Hannah, Lilia, Shelby and I all extricated ourselves from the group and started running around the school, trying to stay away from the other group. We ran by the science classrooms about 7 times. They kept on giving us weird looks, and we told them that we were just trying to run off the excess sugar. The other group saw us a few times, and we ran away and slid on the floor in our socks. Now I come to think about it, that probably wasn't the best idea. Who knows what's been on that floor?!?!? Then Hannah, Shelby and I got locked out of the school because we went outside, trying to run away from the other girls. Then we went to say HAPPY HALLOWEEN! to all our teachers, then we left. Hannah and I had several jumping contests, and Nicole brought in DDR.

Whew! I am very sweaty now. Time to go shower!!

Pep Assembly Proposes Pizza Party

Today at our school pep assembly, there was a chicken race. In the magazine drive, if your Homeroom sold enough magazines, you got a robotic chicken, and you raced it in the pep assembly. Whoever's chicken got out of the circle first won! Well, our Homeroom won!!! We get a pizza party! Armen even made a sign that said "GO SARTORIUS CHICKEN!!"

The only question now is......cheese or pepperoni???

Family Fun!

This weekend, my cousins from out of town, Jake and Josh, came to visit because their mom had some business to take care of over here. Jake had to miss the last two hours of school because they were planning to leave by noon yesterday. They got here while my family and I were at a volleyball game. Jake and Josh were both asleep when we got home. This morning they went to see some sights while I had a soccer game. Then we met at the zoo, and we had a lot of fun there. Now we are at home watching football and playing computer and Wii. They are leaving tomorrow.

*Sniff* I'm so proud!

There are SO many injuries this year in softball! Hmmmmmm..............let's make a list of who all are injured:

  1. Silver
  • Leilani: Knee
  • Amanda: Ankle
  • Katie: Ankle
  • Madi: Ankle/Shin (temporary)
  • Meghan: Hand (temp.)

2. Blue

  • Kristen: N/A
  • Carly: N/A
  • Jordan: Foot
  • Breanna: N/A

But since all the captains on the Silver team are injured, I'm the new captain!!! I get to help decide where to put people in the field, what we need to work on, what drills will help, and stuff. Coach L. has agreed with me on many points, including the one to put Hannah at first! She was happy about that.

I think I will make a good captain, although Shelby might disagree. ;-)tee hee

Yay!!!

Yay to the billionth power!

I am very proud to announce that today we got our 100 point math tests back! I got a 90%!!!! Only one girl in my class got a 100%; Sydney B. I totally bombed the last two questions, though.

But that's okaaaaaayyyy!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful wintry day!!!!!!!!! (For explanation, go to http://www.makingfiends.com/ episode 14)

Yipee! Hooray! Zipideedoodah!!!!

From Out of Town

I am doing this post from the hotel computer out of town! I am in the Tri-Cities for my cousin's Bar Mitzvah. The party isn't all that fun, because the guys are being stupid, talking about double-X whenever my girl cousins and I walk in (if you don't know what I'm talking about, think of Pop. adn Eco. last year in science) and not letting us play Guitar Hero. Then they're making fun of looking weird at my 7 year old cousin who has Asbergers. The actual ceremony was like 3 hours. So, out of hte 4 Bar/Bat Mitzvah's I've gone to, this is probably the least fun. It's been nice to see all my cousins, and the food is really good, but, you know. My Aunt Bobbi has an exchange student from Korea here with her, a kid named Jonathan. He seems nice. It's funny, there are probably more Catholic people here than Jewish people!

Well, that's it from here.

Reeeee-cola!

I don't like colds. I have never liked colds. They are terrible. I had one until about a day ago. Since cold season is just around the corner, I decided to suggest ways to get rid of them.
  • Humidifier for when you are asleep
  • Halls Defense Vitamin C Supplement Drops
  • Ricola Vitamin C Supplement Drops and Cough Drops
  • Drink lots of water
  • Drink orange juice
  • Tissues (LOTS)
  • Good nights sleep
  • Wash your hands a lot

Kind of random, but these are all very helpful! (For me, at least)

Gotta Step It Up!

Yesterday I went to see a volleyball game. The team that won the NCAA Championship in 2005 wasn't looking too good last night. They got swept. They could have won every one of the games, but they just couldn't hold on. Oh, well, I'll see them back in action on Sunday. Against a better team. Uh-oh......................

I wonder............

Hmmm...........I was watching the Vice Presidential Debate on Thursday, and I noticed something very strange. Sarah Palin said "nucular" instead of "nuclear" 4 times! Maybe more! I wonder if all Republicans have trouble with pronouncing that word. Or maybe she was just taught how to say "nuclear" by our dear friend George WB.

Word Problems Are Not My Thing

I don't know if anyone else finds this, but I do not like word problems in Math. If it's laid out for me "5x+(2x3)=-20", plain as day, then I'm fine. But if it's all confusing like "At Water Works Amusement Park, the daily profit from the concession stand depends on the number of park visitors. The equation p=2.50v-500 gives the estimated profit p in dollars........" ARGH!!! It's so confusing!! I hate them!!!

Tests Galore

Wow, we are having a lot of tests lately!! On Friday we had to take a Math test, today we had to take a Science test, and on the 9th we have to take this GINORMOUS 100 point unit test in Math that is going to be TERRIZBLE! We have to take little quizzes on "Ender's Game" in LA/SS every time we read a new chapter. Tests are not my thing. Unless they're open journal, my brain freezes and forgets most everything I've been taught. It's not fun.

Random Quiz. (I'm bored)

Which Greek God is your parent??
Just yesterday I got a book in Mr. G's library called "The Lightning Thief." It's about this boy named Percy who figures out he's the son of the Greek God Posiedon. Being a son or daughter of "The Big Three" (Zeus, Posiedon, Hades) is a REALLY big deal in the book, so I thought, I'm bored, so, what the heck.

A: What is you favorite method of travel?
  1. Plane
  2. Boat
  3. Underground Subway

B: You're going to your vacation house at Lake Tahoe. What do you do first?

  1. Find out a place where you can go parasailing
  2. Swim!
  3. Go under the deck and explore

C: Which part of the circus would you most like to take part in?

  1. Acrobat
  2. Going in the tank with the stunt sharks
  3. Laughing at rookies who hurt themselves

D: Which career do you think you would excel in?

  1. Pilot
  2. SCUBA diving instructor
  3. Underground Miner

E: If you could be given one magical ability, what would it be?

  1. The ability to fly
  2. The ability to breath normally and stay completely dry underwater
  3. The ability to burrow under the ground

F: If you and your friend made a promise to do/not do something, would you break that promise?

  1. Yes
  2. Are you kidding me? Of course not!
  3. Depends. What's in it for me?

MOSTLY 1'S= ZEUS

You love being in the air, flying, whatever, you just love to be above the ground. This is a sign that you are a son/daughter of the Lord of the Sky, Zeus.

MOSTLY 2'S= POSIEDON

You love swimming, being in the water, surfing, what have you. You love the water and everything in it. This is a sign that you are the son/daughter of the Lord of the Sea, Posiedon.

MOSTLY 3'S= HADES

You like the underground, and dark places. You tend to laugh at others' suffering. This is a sign that you are a son/daughter of the Lord of the Underworld, Hades.

Math Test Madness

Yesterday in 4th Period Math I got my math test back. Mrs. S told us that the class average was a 68%, so I was a little nervous. I got a B-. Not bed, when you consider that the class average was a D. My friend Morgan got .5 points less than me, but she got a grade lower than me. I could tell she was really ticked off. I think I had one of the best scores in the class. When you think about it, that's REALLY sad, that a B- was one of the best scores. I asked Taylor B. what score she got and she said "Really bad." and walked away. Mrs. S's 4th period isn't the sharpest, if you get my drift.

No buying costumes for us!

This year for Halloween, my friends and I (see "My Friends and I are nuts") are going trick-or-treating together. We are making our costumes, and we are getting together today to design them. One friend and I are being identical elves, one is being a reindeer, one is being Mrs. Claus, one is being a gift, and one friends sister is being an angel. Again, we are MAKING our costumes, no buying for us. We thought it would be a fun group project. Yay Halloween!!

Apples to Apples

We went to the Farmer's Market in RTC yesterday and got apples. It just now dawned on me how different they are!!

Honeycrisp > Pink Pearl

A Pink Pearl is no ordinary apple. Just look at the inside!

OMG! It's PINK!

CHEEEEEEEESE!!!!

Yesterday afternoon, my mom and I went to this farm place where these people make their own cheese. I LOVE cheese, so I thought, what the heck, it could be cool. Well, it was. You could take a goat milking lesson, which I was AMAZING at. They have about 20 baby goats there, that all the kids were petting. But not me. I was more interested in petting the cows. Oh, yeah, and the yak. I mean, how many times do you see a YAK in your life?? Then we went up and sampled some cheese. It was REALLY good, because all of it was fresh. Then we bought some.

All of their cheeses have really interesting names. We bought "Naughty Nellie", "BoVino", and "Valley Girl." They are all AMAZING!

Smiley Faces

I feel bored today, so I'm going to leave you with SMILEY FACES!!!!!!!

:-) :-( :-P :-@ :-* :-> ;-) :-O :-# :- :-}

My Friends and I are nuts

I did this video a couple weeks ago with some friends.

Oh, here's a blooper:

Haha I'm not going to post this because it takes WAY WAY WAY too long to process a video on this blogging thing.

Futball Fun

My soccer team, the Impact, played a game today at 60 Acres and we won 4-0. I was goalie in the first half and I was reeeeeeeeeaaaallllyy bored. I didn't do much. I didn't even get much action on defense in the next half!! Anyway, afterwards we went to the Farmer's Market at RTC and got apples. One kind has pink flesh!!!

Sad News

I am sorry to say that this week, my paternal grandmother had a stroke. She was in the bathroom, slipped off the toilet, and was wedged between the toilet and the bathtub for almost 24 hours. She is all right, I think. My dad is down there now. The doctors ran tests and her memory (which is usually the first thing that goes with a stroke) is all fine. I am praying for her. Just thought I'd share that.

Softball Scoop

Yesterday Junior High JV softball team and the Junior High Varsity team faced off in a game. There was a twist where we pitched to our own team, because if Varsity had pitched to JV, it would have been a total blowout. I pitched to my team, and got a hit off my pitcher, and iff I would have run just a teensey bit faster, I would have gotten on base. I had to leave early for soccer pictures, though. I got the scoop at school today that we lost 5-8. Oh, well, you have to admit, it was Varsity!

Wii! Wheeeeeeeee!!

Today my parents bought me a Wii! It was supposed to be a surprise for Christmas, but I saw it underneath the cart, and the logo was peeking through the bag. YAY!!!!

This weekend

The weekend of the 5-7th of September, I was in Moscow, Idaho. We visited the University of Idaho, where my cousin Nick goes to school. We went to a football game at the Kibbie Dome. IDAHO WON!! WOO-HOO! GO VANDALS!!! They beat the Idaho State Bengals 42-27. They had 3 interceptions, and it was a very good game with a crowd of about 11,000. Anyway. During the pre-game, I won a football in a drawing! It's a nice one, too! At the student store I got pj bottoms, a beanie, and a shirt. All in all, it was a very fun weekend.
