Mardi Gras!!!!!!!
Yesterday my parents threw this huge Mardi Gras party!!! (I couldn't stay, of course, I had to babysit. $40!!) There was everything; jambalaya, King Cake, cornbread, appetizers, EVERYTHING!!! I helped with the appetizers. The dining room has still not been taken down with all the awesome decorations, and if I could get pictures on my dad's laptop, I would totally have taken a picture of it. (Our computer is "in the shop" again.) My mom worked all day yesterday and half the day the day before to get ready for it, cooking, decorating, and the like. Today I made waffles (no, not Eggo) to give her a break. Well, the masks will be put away until next year! But there is still plenty of leftover jambalaya left for MOI.

Ouch! (But not for long)
Yesterday, at the very end of the day of my volleyball tournament, I was diving for a ball (I'm a DS doncha know). I got it up! But when I got up, when I moved my left leg forward, my hip really hurt. I have no idea what I did to it, but mom says I hyperextended it somehow. I didn't even know hips could hyperextend! But I played today and it feels much better. Yay!

Happy Valentine's Day! (Or not)
Happy St. Valentine's Day! According to Jim Gaffigan (best comedian ever) St. Valentine was "the patron saint of overpriced greeting cards." This is very true. Have you ever even looked at a Valentine's card from Hallmark lately? It costs like $4.50! 4 dollars and 50 cents for a flimsy little piece of paper with some cheesy message written in it. Rip-off...............

Just Dance!
Last night from 7-9 pm we had our third school dance of the year! It was the Black Heart. The guys were supposed to wear black and the girls were supposed to wear pink. My friends and I thought that they took that color from the wardrobe of a stereotypical girl (not all girls own a pink garment acceptable for a school dance!) so we all rebelled and wore blue!! It was a lot of fun. There were only like five slow dances because if you don't get asked by a guy (and come on, about three quarters of the girls don't) how much can a girl really wander? I never get bored of it, but some do. Mostly it was all loud and songs easily dance-able to. My legs hurt so bad at the end of that because really the "dancing" is just jumping up and down a lot with your arms in the air.

SWEEP
Yesterday my school volleyball team and I had a volleyball game against RJH. We swept them in three games, 25-17, 25-8, 26-24. They got a lot better in the third game, obviously. We had a lot of fun on the bus to get there, even though I was squised beyond belief. It wasn't one of the usual Charter buses to get there. It was a very uncomfy school bus, and I got stuck in that seat that has the huge hump in it where the wheel is. Not the best experience of my life. But the game was so much fun!!!!!! We have another home game tomorrow against FHJH.

Deja Vu
And again...
The only difference from this and the last little snowfall is that today we have a 2-hour-late start. School starts at 9:40 today!! Although it stinks because I woke up from my alarm, saw the snow, then turned on the news to see that we had 2-hour-late start. And I can't go back to sleep after I've woken up. Aw man!!

Volleyballin'
Yesterday I got up at 5:45 and we drove to a volleyball tournament. We were 3-2 overall. I didn't play as much as I would have liked, but I did go into serve and had some rocket aces and a couple of 5-6 point runs. Yay!

A Work of Art!
A few weeks ago, my mom bought a coconut. It looked like this:
Today we decided to cut into it. (It smelled really bad.) In the space of 5 hours, it turned into this:

Coconut Cake!!!!!!!

The Black Heart and More Candy Grams
BLACK HEART
This coming Friday is the Black Heart Dance. In case you are asking questions about the theme, they decided to try to mix Friday the 13th with Valentines Day. They also voted that the guys wear black and the girls wear pink which is totally sexist. Not all girls like PINK! Some girls (like my friend Maki) absolutely LOVE the color black and will probably wear black to the dance anyway.
CANDY GRAMS!!!!
On Thursday when I bought the Candy Grams, my friend Tamie also sent 2. Both as pranks to her friends. She thought it was funny but didn't think it would work because both friends would recognize her handwriting. Oh well.

Cooku for Cranes
I have always known how to make origami paper lanterns (or "water bombs" as my friend Tamie calls them.) But on Friday my friend Marissa in LA/SS showed me how to make paper cranes. I have made about 10 of them over the weekend. Here is a picture of when I had just started making them.
You know its some sort of myth that if you make 1000 paper cranes and make a wish, it will come true!
