Cooku for Cranes

I have always known how to make origami paper lanterns (or "water bombs" as my friend Tamie calls them.) But on Friday my friend Marissa in LA/SS showed me how to make paper cranes. I have made about 10 of them over the weekend. Here is a picture of when I had just started making them.
You know its some sort of myth that if you make 1000 paper cranes and make a wish, it will come true!
My cousin once read a book where this girl was diagnosed with leukemia and decided to make 1000 paper cranes to make a wish to get better. My cousin thought that she would make the 1000 cranes and get better, but apparently, she made 999, then died. :-(

I read that book! It was about a girl who made 999 cranes and then she died.
